The Great Fish Relocation

Our aquarium has been leaking for the past month or so, but we’re not sure where the leak is. Every morning the floor in front of the aquarium is wet. We had already moved the single Genghis Khan in our aquaruim to the pond in our own car (using a net and two baby bathtubs, as shown in the pic below).

Moving the Genghis Khan in our car.

Yesterday we moved the alligator gars, tigercatfish and my tiger/redtail cross to the other pond. Tigercatfish in the net.

Today we moved the red-tailed catfish to the pond in my dad’s friend’s house, where our big arapaima was.

My dad briefing the office guys.
(That one with the red tail goes in the truck, the catfish with stripes goes in the pond in the back, watch out for that long black one, it has really sharp teeth that can rip a hole in the net...etc.)

Tugiman trying to catch the catfish in the aquarium... it sure put up a fight!

2 office guys came to help move the fish, with a small truck and black container thingy. They put a small wooden ladder into the aquarium (which had already been drained until there was anly a bit of water left). Tugiman climbed in and used a net to capture Little Red. He then passed the fish up to the other guy, who passed the fish down to my dad, who carried the fish to the waiting water–filled container in the truck.

One of the catfish in the container in the truck.

Then we moved Big Red. It took longer to catch and longer to lift up, because it was so heavy. I stood on a weighing scale and my dad passed the fish to me.

I held the fish on the scale and after subtracting my weight, we deducted that Big Red weighed over 20kg!

The truck with the catfish backing into my dad's friend's house.

We got to my dad's friend's house (about 3 minutes away) and it was raining. We released the fish there made sure they were alright.
